Before we got Benny (our first Yorkie), we raised Golden Retrievers for over 30 years and felt they were the best breed anyone could have. We thought anyone who had a little dog was nuts. Then one day we were visiting a kennel, and we saw Ben and fell in love with him that moment. Then we realized the benefits of a Yorkie, they’re small, don’t eat as much, don’t shed, easy to take on a trip, love kids, good watch dog, smart, and they love you as much as you love them.

Our last Golden Retriever was up in years and we decided we would raise Yorkies. Not for show but exactly what we raised the Golden Retrievers for, good family, fun dogs that are easy to handle.

If you are in the market for a loveable, fun dog that is easy to handle, healthy and doesn’t shed, then a Yorkie is for you. Because of the nature of how the Yorkie came about Gracie’s puppies could be small, especially since Ben’s mother was only 6 pounds and Gracie’s dad was only 5 lbs. There could also be a Ben (14lbs). If there is, that lucky person will be the happiest of all.
